In the academic year 2022/2023, 1.9 million students were enrolled at Italian universities. Around 1.2 million of them were Bachelor's students, while 410,000 were Master's students. 302,000 undergraduates were enrolled in combined Bachelor's and Master's programs, typically law and medicine. Moreover, about 334,000 new people firstly enrolled in the national university system. A total of 366,000 students graduated in 2022. In particular, 201,000 obtained a Bachelor's degree, 127,000 a Master's degree, and 38,000 a combined Bachelor's and Master's degree.
